This page records what we accepted and what we changed.
Current state. The observation record of the Fuel Finder file began on 18 October 2026. Expected cadence is two snapshots a day, as the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero publishes it. Because no window is complete, no area median, spread or brand figure is published yet, and the pages say so rather than showing a provisional number. Internal checks on this release: four passed, none failed.
There is no independent published total of reporting stations for this file, so our completeness check has a limit we state plainly. We verify that station keys are unique, that counts stay inside their bounds, and that figures reproduce from the kept files. That is internal consistency. It does not independently verify that the file was complete, and we do not claim otherwise. We look again for an independent total at every accepted file.
Changes to method will be listed here with their date: a new window definition, a changed publishing floor, a new measure, a measure withdrawn, or a corrected calculation. Ordinary movement of prices between files is not listed, because that is the subject of the site rather than a change to it.
Worked example, CR0. Stations reporting E10 petrol: 14 stations. Three scheduled collections of three due. They hold one distinct publisher release.

What this does not mean
What this page does not show
It does not tell you what a named station charges. Only area figures are published, and a station price never appears here in any form.
It does not tell you today's price. A median describes a past window of reported prices; for the price right now, use the Fuel Finder service run by the department, which we link on every page.
It does not say anyone broke a rule. A price that did not move is not evidence of a missing report or of a breach of the reporting rules.
It does not promise a saving. A difference between two area medians is a description of history, not a forecast of what you would pay.
It does not cover a collection we did not make. A repeated file does not add a day. Each page states how many scheduled collections were made and how many distinct publisher releases they hold.
